Pakistan - GAWN; India - On the Ropes

It seems the world cup minnows have just slayed a giant.

Pakistan, most famous recently for bringing the game into disrepute, then playing politics with the umpiring panel, have been beated by Ireland. Following on from their defeat at the hands of the West Indies, they can now look forward to a safe trip home, earlier than most would have expected.

In news sure to delight many minnow watchers, Bangladesh has also come into the fray with a defeat of India.

Much joy can be had watching these results. It brings a feel of unpredictability to the outcome, much like a genuine World Cup (remember Germany 2006).

Why I love the underdogs

You don't get guys like this playing professional Cricket week in, week out.

But to get 2/32 against England, no matter how poorly they ended up batting, he gets my player of the week award.
