Rafael v Ivan; Roger v David

The World Cup appears to have taken a great amount of interest from those who cover sports events, particularly in Australia. But at the same time, a gripping contest appears to be unfolding for the French Open, albeit unnoticed in Australia.

This is partly the fault of not having the French Open on Free-to-Air TV, and mainly the fault of the Socceroos making everything else less interesting.

The Top Four seeds fight it out tonight in what should be a wonderful exhibition of clay court tennis, to make it to the final two.

Roger Federer has been the form player of the past few years, but hasn't won at Roland Garros. David Nalbandian is as good as anyone else in the world on his day. Rafael Nadal has had an unbroken 58 wins on Clay. Ivan Ljubicic is not noted for his clay court skill, but has the potential to pull off an upset.

Unfortunately, with the pressure of Exams, and no Foxtel at my place, I don't have the best form guide around, but I think Roger may just have enough to go lucky, or if not Rafael is the best player around on clay for years.
